former Chelsea Manager Thomas Tuchel has taken over as Bayern Munich’s new manager

Following his appointment as Bayern Munich‘s new manager, Thomas Tuchel reportedly has interest in several Chelsea players, including Mateo Kovacic, his former midfield partner.

The German tactician Tuchel is now back in coaching after replacing Julian Naglesmann in the Allianz Arena hot-seat.

Thomas Tuchel was relieved of his duties in west London following a 1-0 Champions League defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia and has since taken an extended break from the game before returning to the Bundesliga to try to reclaim first place from Borussia Dortmund.

Bayard must get busy in the summer market to maintain their superiority at the top of German football, with Dortmund improving and potentially going four points clear of Bayern if they were to win the Der Klassiker tournament.

The Evening Standard report that Tuchel intends to make moves for several of his former Chelsea player at the end of the current campaign.

As Kovacic approaches the final year of his current contract with Chelsea, it’s known that he’s one of the players who’s drawing the most attention.

Tuchel, the former head coach of Real Madrid, is said to hold the 28-year-old midfielder in high regard, and Manchester City is also said to be a fan.

A long list of Chelsea players, including Kovacic, Mason Mount, Hakim Ziyech, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Christian Pulisic, now face uncertain futures at Stamford Bridge.

Given that Kovacic and Mount are approaching the end of their contracts and that the Blues could now be ruthless in their efforts to raise money, they might be the first high-profile players to be sold.
