Manchester United are in talks to sign the star dubbed as the new Cristiano Ronaldo

Football Online News:
Cristiano Ronaldo began his senior career with Sporting CP, before signing with Manchester United in 2003

Manchester United are in early talks with superagent Jorge Mendes to sign the next Cristiano Ronaldo to lead their attack.

Of course, manager Erik ten Hag had the superstar Cristiano Ronaldo on his book this campaign, and the two had a spectacular falling out after Ronaldo’s explosive Piers Morgan interview prior to the World Cup. In the middle of the season, CR7 left Manchester United a second time.

But that hasn’t stopped United from signing a player who has consistently been referred to as the 38-year-old’s successor, with on-loan Wout Weghorst unlikely to be signed on a permanent basis.

According to Correio da Manha, United have held a series of talks with Mendes about his client, Goncalo Ramos, moving to Manchester.

The Benfica phenomenon garnered attention in Qatar as the only player to score a hat-trick at the 2022 World Cup. With players from the Portuguese league successfully switching to the Premier League in recent years, United have reason to believe the move would succeed.

Goncalo Ramos (R) is valued at โ‚ฌ40m by Transfermarkt

Harry Kane remains the top target, but Victor Osimhen remains a top candidate. But, a transfer for either superstar is extremely challenging because both Napoli and Tottenham Hotspur are famously difficult to negotiate with.

Goncalo Ramos, who is 21 years old, is far younger than the other two candidates. Mohamed Kudus of Ajax completes the shortlist as the other player.

But Goncalo Ramos wouldn’t be cheap. The striker’s contract with Benfica has an exit clause of ยฃ106m (โ‚ฌ120m) and runs through 2026. Yet, the source claims that the Lisbon giants are willing to sell the star for ยฃ88.8m (โ‚ฌ100m).
